Cool, Stylish & Jewel-Toned Inspiration Shoot

Photography & Inspiration

Cara: After initially meeting with couture bridal designer Kate Britton of Mariée Bridal (and coincidently now our lovely neighbour upstairs at the Boutique!) to discuss the bridal styled shoot for her 17/18 Look Book, we knew that we wanted to move away from the more romantic, whimsical styles that we had photographed in previous year’s, and create something a little more dramatic – and the freshly renovated Coach House and grounds at Dorfold Hall in Nantwich was the place to do it!

Our vision was to incorporate a rich, jewel-toned colour palette of plums and greenery with a more structured style of gown – all whilst combining with a more pared down backdrop. The whitewashed exposed brick and flagstone floors of Dorfold’s Coach House worked perfectly.

The luxury, striking shoot we created with my carefully curated team of suppliers was everything we hoped for, utilising the mix of minimalist features like the venue itself with colourful, opulent details to create a carefully balanced setting.

The Details

Stylist Fiona Jones from FiFi Boutique Bespoke took inspiration from the centuries old stone features of the beautiful Dorfold grounds – combined with an eclectic mix of glassware and florals in our chosen berry and green colours.

Hairstylist Vicky M Hair created voluminous loose styles that combined with the structured gowns from Mariee beautifully, further enhanced by the modern make-up looks from our MUA Shaolynn Beydoun.

The hand-painted florals I featured on the TLPS stationery worked fabulously with the Gin-themed (always a winner in our eyes!) table plan – using the ornate gin bottles to best effect – and also echoed in the hand-painted cake design that I created in partnership with Bloomsbury Wedding Cakes. These were so well received that we are now offering a hand-painted cake service with Bloomsbury to any of our #TLPScouples now; just get in touch to find out more.

We’ve also added the stationery suite to our house collection, and have named her ‘Alessa’!

The Food

Our favourite caterer Chris from Pepper Ink was on-hand to create some tasty treats, that were – as usual – presented in a beautifully creative way that enhanced, rather than distracted, from the table setting.

And yes, we can assure you that everything tasted as lovely as it looks!
